He was born in Pontiac, Michigan, but is a native of Phenix City, Alabama. Born to Isaac Austin, Jr, and Carolyn Deloise Luster, he is one of five siblings. He grew up fellowshipping at Pine Hill Baptist Church and, at 12 years old, was baptized into a Christian family.
